Dr. Dongwon Kim earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan after studying at privileged engineering schools in South Korea. Born with cerebral palsy, he has long been driven to invent technologies that improve the lives of people with disabilities. After more than eight years in rehabilitation research, he realized that society still lacks systems that protect the dignity of vulnerable individuals and support their social engagement and success. He founded EpicWide to help change that.
